Development and Training Centre for Candidates Training and development are essential corporate functions and integral elements of corporate strategy. ZNI is linked with other institutions as well as the Trade Test Centre, which professionally trains our candidates covering their different occupations utilising modern equipment, technology and know-how. This is an exclusive system for our candidates, not used by other Pakistani manpower suppliers. Whether the candidate is unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled or highly-skilled, ZNI provides them with the following:  Lectures Selected candidates from the Overseas Principle or from ZNI must attend specially provided lectures. These lectures primarily focus on providing candidates with basic information, such as terms and conditions, employment duties and behaviour in host countries.  Seminars After attending the lectures, candidates are given the opportunity to join group discussions at various seminars. These seminars are designed to improve team spirit and leadership qualities and to discuss any issues from the lectures.  Workshops After attending the lectures and the seminars, candidates are required to attend various workshops. ZNI organises these workshops at the Trade Test Centre where candidates are shown the different tools, techniques and latest technologies in order to become prepared for work overseas.  Orientation Course Before candidates’ deployment, ZNI arranges a meeting where professional consultants provide candidates with information for their overseas employment. These programmes are designed to provide candidates with important information relating to the work culture of the prospective organisation, industrial practices, safety issues, labour laws and other relevant issues, so that the time taken for adjusting to the job is minimal, resulting in a speedy and successful adjustment to their new workplace. RECRUITMENT METHODOLOGY Source of Human Resources: Our Data Bank ZNI has always been aware of trends in human resource development. Our current objective is to build people’s strength and creativity, to become an innovative manpower supplier and to develop strategies to facilitate the smooth provision of placements within a short time period. In order to achieve this, we maintain a vast data bank, which includes unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled workers as well as highly-qualified professionals from all types of educational and academic backgrounds. Our data bank is professionally maintained and is always kept up to date. Selection Procedure Our selection panel consists of an exclusive combination of personnel, who ensure a high level of short listing, screening, interviewing and testing for trade competency, testing for medical fitness and carefully selecting candidates for a particular client, according to the job specifications given by the client. In addition, ZNI works with the Trade Test Centre, a highly-respected technical training institute. Recruitment and Selection Procedure 1. ZNI processes information for thousands of unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled and highly-skilled workers using our data bank. We continually add to our data bank through the process of conducting interviews throughout the year. 2. We also benefit from additional resources from local factories, the Ministry of Labour, vocational institutions and other affiliated agencies in Pakistan. 3. With approval from the authorities concerned, ZNI advertises almost all its vacancies in leading newspapers, through online networking, social media and on our website. 4. We compile candidates’ bio data, including comprehensive information relating to ‘track records’ by analysing CVs, talking to previous employers, screening candidates’ certificates, investigating criminal records and checking passports. 5. When preliminary screenings have been conducted, individual applicants are invited to a face-to-face interview with an experienced consultant or video interview. More information is given in the “Innovation and Technology” section below. 6. If required, the applicant is then asked to undergo a written test. After the written test, trade/skill testing is conducted. This is a critical step, when the applicant’s skills are tested and verified under the conditions at the site of the principal. The overseas principal or his authorised representative is always welcome to participate during this final test. 7. The final selection of the applicant is decided by the unanimous decision of the placement committee consisting of testing and interview staff and the representative of the overseas principal, all of whom have already attended the screening, interview and skill testing. RECRUITMENT POLICY Only healthy and professional people can guarantee the successful completion of projects. Therefore, we have adopted the following recruitment policy. Advertising We have to obtain permission from the Bureau of Emigration, Government of Pakistan, by submitting the required documents received from the employer. Panel Board All applications received will be subject to pre-screening prior to submission to the Panel Board. Selection The Panel Board, comprising qualified personnel from various fields, will be responsible for ascertaining the best candidates for our clients for interview. Technical Trade Test A fully-equipped Trade Test Centre has been set up for the purpose of testing the technical knowledge (among other things) of the candidate. This test is conducted in the presence of the respective delegate(s) sent by the clients. Medicals All selected candidates will be subject to a strict medical in a GCC approved medical centre. Files Individual files will be maintained for all selected candidates, which will contain the following:  Original passport Eight photographs  Employment agreement Copy of the result of the medical  Trade Test Centre report for technical candidates INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY Web-based Recruitment Solutions We have invested significantly in online technology solutions that have helped to streamline our recruitment processes. The following are some of the solutions we offer free of charge to clients:  Benchmarking of remuneration packages  Customised interview question preparation  Internet advertising  Online security and employment checks  PC administration skills assessment  Recording video interviews Video Interviews We have developed technology that enables us to record video interviews and stream them to our clients. This enables us to not only conduct an interview over the Internet with a job seeker in a remote location, but also to record, store and share the interview securely via the Internet with all and any stakeholders in the interview process. This is particularly helpful when a job seeker or employer is elsewhere in the country or overseas. Video Introductions A video introduction is a short video of a job seeker talking about their career (usually approximately thirty seconds). It offers job seekers a unique opportunity to visually express their personality, abilities, talent and motivation. Once the video introduction has been recorded, we are able to email it to our client to be viewed at any time and by as many stakeholders as required. Dispatch of Workers We are capable of dispatching five hundred workers within twenty to thirty days or even less, after receiving authorised visa documentation. In addition, ZNI is an authorised travel agent with international airlines, which allows our staff to make flight reservations, check flight status and issue airline tickets to candidates without any delays. As part of our feedback policy, we always notify principals well in advance about travel arrangements for recruited workers. BACKGROUND AND SUPPORT SERVICES Background As part of our continuing commitment towards providing excellent services to our clients, we provide a number of services in order to maintain a strong relationship with them. Site Visits Our representative(s) visit job sites and client offices once every six months to assist them with any personnel-related issues. If required, more regular visits are also possible. Wage Remittance Service If required, we can operate a wage remittance service of all money transfers between the worker and their family, including bank account operations. ABOUT PAKISTAN Location Pakistan (or, officially, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan) is a sovereign country in south Asia with an area covering 796,095 km2 (307,374 sq. mile). It is the thirty-sixth largest country in the world in terms of area. Pakistan has a 1,046-kilometre (650 mile) coastline along the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman in the south and is bordered by India to the east, Afghanistan to the west, Iran to the south-west and China in the far north-east. Islam is the official religion in Pakistan and Urdu is the native language, whereas English is the official language. Climate Due to its location, the Pakistani climate is temperate. Situated at 23°37’ North and 61°76’ East, the country covers an area of approximately 803,940 square kilometres out of which the land coverage is approximately 796,096 square kilometres. The climate in Pakistan has great regional variations. The difference in temperature between day and night is substantial. Temperatures in the southern part go up to 45°C or even more in the summer. Scant rainfall makes the country dry and barren. The climate in Pakistan is characterised by hot summers and cold winters. The northern part is generally cold as there are snow-capped mountains and peaks, while the southern part is dry with deserts. Terms & Conditions Following are the minimum terms and conditions set by the Government of Pakistan. 1. Period of Contract Minimum one year. 2. Probation Period 90 days or as per the labour laws of the country. 3. Daily Working Hours 8 hours per day, maximum 12 hours per day with additional 4 hours paid as overtime. 4. Weekly Working Days 6 days per week, paid holiday. 5. Weekly Rest Day At least 1 day per week. 6. Rate of Overtime As per labour laws of host country or minimum 1.50 times of basic salary per hour. 7. Accommodation Free of cost bachelor accommodation (not tents) must be provided by employer with electricity, water, gas and bedding. 8. Messing Facilities Free food or 25% of basic pay to be paid in lieu of free food for unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled workers. This provision of free food is not applicable to U.A.E. and Bahrain. 9. Medical Facilities Free, to be provided by the employer. 10. Transportation Free transport is to be provided by the employer from residence to work place. 11. Passage Economy class by air from place of hire to place of employment and back on expiry of contract. It is to be provided by the employer, if not included in the salary, which should be in addition to the minimum wages laid down. 12. Vacation leave per year as per labour laws of the host country. 13. Illness leaves per year as per labour laws of the host country. 14. Social Security / Insurance Employment to be covered at the cost of the employer according to the labour laws. 15. Dead Bodies Dispatch to dead bodies or evacuation due to serious injury will be made to Pakistan at employer’s expenses.
